Argh...

So frustating.... The closing on our house was supposed to be Tuesday (May 1st.) - but that didn't happen and no one could tell us why. Next the closing was supposed to be this coming Friday (May 4th) - well, we just found out that isn't happening either.... Why? Because the woman selling us the house has already moved - she pre-signed all the paperwork and left the state ....without moving the furnature out of the house!!! Not only that - just found out today that her 18 yr old son is still living in the house. (Yes, we did say in the contract that we wanted to close on the 1st!) Now they are saying that we can close on Tueday the 8th. Hmmm - just wondering if that will happen? And, what, do I ask for the day off from work only to have them change their minds again? Last year when we sold our house everything went so smothly.... this hasn't been smooth at all! It seems like every one involved has dropped the ball and Kris and I are both getting very frustrated and disheartened.... Please, Lord - we need some help!

Its been so long!

Wow, I can't believe its been 4 weeks since I've posted. I've thought of it often and while I can't exactly say what's kept me so buisy, I feel that I've hardly had a chance to breath! Where does the time go. We've been busy with "house" things - hopefully we will have pictures for you before next week. The closing was supposed to be tomorrow, but sadly we still have no idea when we are closing! Its very frustrating. We've been really annoyed with our mortgage broker who has dropped the ball about 20 times. And the last thing is that the woman we are buying the house from has already pre-signed all the paper work and moved to another state. That's all fine, great and wonderful - but she hasn't cleaned out the house - there is still furnature in it! We're truly frustrated, but praying that God will work everything out in his due time. We started packing a few weeks ago so there are lots of boxes all over the house!

April has been an odd month as far as weather goes! We had a lovely 3 days of 70 and 80 degree weather followed by a lot of cold and rain - can you say flooding!!?? I posted a couple pictures of our local park for you to see the wet...

Happily there are signs of spring starting to shine through... The leaves are starting to come out and I saw someone mowing their lawn the other day!

The Good... and the Bad...

Well, the good news is the we had the inspection on the house yesterday and it went very well. There is nothing major wrong with the house at all. Small things that we can fix or improve here or there, but nothing big. Of course there will always be things that we want to do to improve and to make it look the way that we want it, but we have the next 30 years to do that while we pay on it!!

The bad - actually not bad, but dissapointing - thing is that we weren't able to get any more pictures. :( For one thing we were with the inspector the entire time listening to everything that he had to say. But, we also weren't expecting that the woman who owns the house now would actually be there for the inspection! (Along with her 2 kids and her father!) The owner is definately allowed to be there but most chose not to be as its kindof awkward. She stayed off to the side out of the way, but we still felt that it would be a little intrusive to run around taking pictures. Oh, well. I'm sorry, but you will all have to wait till after the closing.... as will we. :(

Please bare with me - my blog is under construction.... Hopefully the grand reopening will be soon. :) Thanx to Morgan - I have now discovered how many more options I have! I will probably change the colors several times over the next few days till I find what I want.

This isn't the greatest picture, but hopefully there will be more to post next week after the inspection! :) We've been home for exactly a week and already have an offer accepted! Wow - what a wirlwind! There is still much to be done - the inspection will be either later this week, or early next week and then there is the appraisal etc., but we are so excited. I just can't believe how much God has blessed us! They accepted an offer for 8,000 less than they were asking and they really could have gotten much more than they wanted for it. Till now we have been a little sad about the house hunting - a LOT of money doesn't go far here in the Albany area and we were starting to think that we were going to have to settle for much less than we wanted. This house is in a good school district and low taxes and we hope to be there for a very long time to come! The woman who owns the house lost her husand this past year and wants to move away so I think that she was actually in kindof a hurry to get rid of the house. Kris (we) wrote her a letter to go along with our offer. She said that she accepted our offer based on the letter and the fact that her father met Kris and liked him and she really wanted us to have her house to start a family in. She actually had her agent crying when she called our agent to less us know they accepted the offer! I have to choice but to believe that God's hand has been in this every step so far. I am so greatful for all that he has done in our lives so far! It's amaizing!!! The closing should be around May 1st - so in exactly 5 weeks if everything goes well we will be holding the keys to our new home! This has all gone so fast I can hardly believe it!

Speeking of amaizing - in just 2 short months from today, we will have been married for 2 years already! I can't believe how fast it has gone, and its been the best two years of my life. I can't wait for the next 2... 10...25... 50 :) I love you husband! :)

Vaca in Florida!

And, yes, we're back from our most lovely, much needed and very relaxing vacation in Florida! We got back Tuesday evening after a lovely little 19hr drive (18.5 on the wey down - but then we didn't get stopped in D.C. traffic!). Trust me the drive really isn't as bad as you would think. Both on the way there and on the way back we left at 2am and got to our destination at about 8:30pm... just in time for bed! :) And my trusty new car did its job just fine! We had such a good time! Sometimes family vacations can be stressful, but it wasn't at all - at least not for us (A&M - any thoughts? :) ). We had the best of times with Aaron and Melissa and Ty and Beth. We couldn't have asked for a better time and weather. 80's and sunny most of the time - only to come home to another 15in. waiting for us! Yippee - so happy that its melting. We went to Busch Garden's with A&M and then to SeaWorld with T&B, to the Brevarde Zoo, Cocoa Beach, Port Canaveral, some other beach and spent 2 awesome days at the wild-life refuge taking pictures (which we're posting on our photo blogs). We had so much fun, and God really blessed the trip. Can't say how happy I was to get to spend more time with Melissa and Beth. :) I love you both. Aaron and Ty - I couldn't ask for better brothers. You guys are a blessing to me. Morgan, Amy, Merc, Dee - I miss you... :(

In other news, we are steadily looking for a house. We more or less started looking before we left, but couldn't really get into it till we got back. We put in an offer on a beautiful house yesterday, but really I believe it will be a miracle if we get it. It was under-priced to begin with (even though its still way higher than we were hoping to have to go) and we low-balled it, so we will see. They have till tomorrow night to give us an answer...

I was just looking through old posts and realized that I never wrote any follow up about my hand! Its fine - Praise God! The shot seemed to do the trick - I just woke up one day and realized that it didn't hurt any more! I love that!

While I was away, they switched over to computerized documentation at work - so its been a little hard to get back into things. I don't like the program that they went with - its too comfusing and we don't have enought computers at work, but hopefully they will get the kinks ironed out. :( So far everyone hates it which has added to the level of constant bickering that I hear on a day to day basis. Its so hard not to be a part of it, but I try so hard. Please help me God to be a good example!

Life may get a little crazy over the next few months, buying a house, moving, Linea coming to live with us, and many more little things. Keep us in prayer!!! :)

Things that were and things that will be...

So, we took a lovely little drive to Boston on Saturday....



...too see the Boston Symphony Orchestra! Something that I've wanted to see since I was a little girl! It was a late birthday present. It was a long drive, but that's ok (3 hours each way). Kris and I both love to try new things at least once. If we like them - that's good. If we don't - well we have a grand old time anyway, but don't do it again. You can click on the pictures to get a somewhat larger view - it was such and elegant Hall and so old fashioned! It gave me the feeling of being in Europe out in high society - hanging with the snobs and being prim and proper. I'm not sure that we would go again, but it was an awesome experience. You have to have an appreciation for classical music and a little extra padding on you back side - the seats are very straight and very hard!

In other news we are headed to a warmer climate this coming Saturday! Look out Florida - here we come!! (Aaron and Melissa - prepare yourselves...) (Ty and Beth - watch your back sides...) I just can't wait! We need a vacation badly and it will be so nice to hang with a small few of my favorite people. (Come on you guys - they arent' my ONLY favorites!!!)

...some things that I need very much to be reminded of...

Snow...

So, I thought I might just post a few pictures of the snow from out at the farm were I grew up. This was the biggest snow storm that we've had in at least 3 year! (And I think its been much longer than that.) I would have taken pictures around here in Albany, but its still a little hard to get out and around here. They are still working to clean things up around here and its been 4 days now! Rumor has it that we are looking at more snow on Thursday, but we'll see.

This is what is left of the big old barn - Papa and Ty had to pull it down over Christmas - it just wasn't safe any more... So many memories I have in that barn - we used to make forts with the hay bales when it was still my Grandfather's farm. And as teenagers we spent a whole lot of time swinging on the rope!

Just another view of "what was"... I'm sure that it will look much different without all the snow. Sadly I wasn't there to watch the day it came down.

So Valentine's day was about snow for us. I had to work that day and I was afraid that I was going to get stuck and have to spend the night at the hospital. Several people did - and let me just say that it's not fun to work on a day that everyone else calls in. Makes you wish you were one of the ones that couldn't make it. Lets just say - way too many patients for the number of nurses - if you know what I'm saying... Anyway - we only live 10 miles from where I work and it took me about 2 hours to get home - what fun that was! Its pretty, but somehow I'm just not into snow as much as I used to be...

From my Honey...

I had to take a CPR class on my birthday... How terrible of me - I accidentally let my card expire about 5 months ago and didn't realize. OOPS! Anyway, it was a blessing - the class was supposed to be 5 hours and we were done in 2 1/2 - tested and everything. So I had the rest of the day off. So, what did I do? I went home and fell asleep like a dead man on the couch :) And my Honey came home with 2 dozen roses for me!!!

I'm so thankful - my finger is all better. It actually hurt worse for about a week after the injection, but I suddenly realized yesterday that all the pain was gone and I have full range of motion! I'm so happy! No therapy for me! Praise God.

Well, I'm going to begin the proses of looking for a new job. Its time for a change. Not sure what that will mean in the end, and I'm nervous, but I'm going to start looking. I'm calling Belleview (a woman's hospital) to see what they have available and we'll see... I've always wanted to do OB and I figure that the longer I wait to make a career switch the harder it will be.
